Imagine an empty chair in front of you. Think about a relationship in which you are currently experiencing conflict or in which you have an unresolved conflict or issue from the past. Mentally “place” the person with whom you are having conflict in the empty chair. Vividly imagine that person—what they look like, what they are wearing, and how they would be sitting. “Talk” freely to that person about the conflict. Become that person sitting in the chair and consider how that person would respond to what you had to say. Respond, as if you were the other person, from that person’s perspective
