Resumes can also be used to apply for master degree programs. Often times, universities offerring master degrees will ask for your resume. They then use the information to see what skills you will be bringing to the classes and what your past degrees were. This information helps them to understand what kind of a student you will be. This would be the same for your LinkedIn profile since this profile is essentially yur online resume that many people are able to see at once. Another use for your LinkedIn profile is to connect with others who may help you professionally. This could then help you to network with lots of people who may be able to help you in your career or any projects that you may be working on. This could essentially help you to connect with more people through the first people that you connected with. Personally, I will use my resume to apply for new jobs since I have no plans on going on to a master degree. I might pursue this in the future, which will require my resume, but for now I will only use the resume to apply for new jobs.
