In general, what this comment is saying is that the reason we have democracy now is because people came to understand that it was silly for a single person to make all the decisions.

King George III was a tyrant who wouldn't listen to the demands of colonist and therefore US fought with them.

After the American Revolution, a tyrant like George was not desirable. For that reason, firstly Articles of Confederation was set up, central government disseminated the power to the state governments.

Then everything came down to the Legislative, the Executive, and the Judicial branches of government.
