Answer :

AL2006
2/5 x + 1/3 x = 22

First of all, I've been answering so many of these things lately that I'm
getting really tired of 'x'.  Let's call the unknown number ' Q ' instead.

2/5 Q + 1/3 Q = 22

Multiply each side by 5 :

2Q + 5/3 Q = 110

Multiply each side by 3 :

6Q + 5Q = 330

Add the like terms on the left side:

11Q = 330

Divide each side by 11 :

Q = 30 .

From the text of the task we can write the following equation:

[tex]\frac{2x}{5}+\frac{x}{3}=22\\ \\ Solving: multiplying \ all \ terms \ by \ 15:\\ \\ 6x+5x=330\\ \\ 11x=330\\ \\ x=\frac{330}{11}\\ \\ \boxed{x=30}[/tex]
